Biographical history

Richard Calhoun Secord was born to Barbara Delle Calhoun and Richard David Secord in 1955. He was raised on the family farm at Winterburn, AB. He attended the University of Durham, graduating in 1977, then did a law degree at the University of Alberta, and was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1980. He currently works as a lawyer in Edmonton, AB.

The series consists of a letter from John G. Diefenbaker (Leader of the Opposition, 1967) with a copy of House of Commons debates, Jan. 11, 1967, commemorating birth of John A. Macdonald, and a mock newspaper, headlined “Richard C Secord Returns to Winterburn Old Fashion Days” (most text reprinted from a 1917 issue of Calgary Eye Opener), [197?] (o/s folder).
