Name of creator
The Polish Cultural Society of Edmonton was unofficially formed in 1973 after members of the Polish Academic Club desired to form a club that focused solely on Polish cultural activities. After the Society was formally incorporated in 1975, its main goals were set as promoting Polish culture, customs, and language through education programs, concerts, literary events, and art exhibitions featuring Polish authors and artists.
Scope and content
The fonds consists of materials related to the Society’s incorporation including a copy of the Society’s Certificate of Incorporation, the application for Incorporation, and a list of signatures appended to the Incorporation application. The fonds also includes a list of officers for 1974-1975, as well as a membership list for the year of 1975. Finally, the fonds also includes an announcement for the Society’s Copernicus Competition and a poster announcing the first public lecture of the Society.
