Scope and content

This series consists of photographs documenting the work of the Parks and Recreation Department. Photos numbered EA-20 include images of civic properties, leisure programs, special events, sports, green spaces such as boulevards and parks, and City staff. It also includes a photographic inventory of several thousand images of schools, community halls, playgrounds, pools, parks, and facilities from around 1968. Photos numbered ET-28 were created as a slide library to be used by staff in presentations.

This material was transferred to the City of Edmonton Archives between 1967 and 2000, with two other images found in the collection in 2015 and repatriated to RG-21.

Arrangement

The photographs were assigned item numbers with the prefix EA-20 and ET-28.
