The fonds consists of records created by Joseph McCallum including correspondence, legal papers, bills and invoices relating to his businesses, particularly McCallum Agencies and McCallum Motors. The records offer a view of commerce during the late 1920s and early 1930s. A great deal of the correspondence reveals the effects of the Great Depression on business, being composed of demands for overdue payment, and letters to and from lawyers and collection agencies concerning outstanding debts.
This fonds consists of minutes, ledgers and financial records, shareholders' notices and correspondence of the company dating from 1866 to 1965. There are also copies of the company's indenture documents, certificates, and the corporate seal.
The fonds consists records and photographs created or accumulated by the Reed or Clarke families of Reed’s Fine China and Gifts. The photographs include interiors and exteriors of Reed’s stores as well as photos of William Reed, Russell Clarke and some members of their families and staff. Item List:
