The Edmonton Women's Film Society fonds

The fonds consists of the records of The Edmonton Women’s Film Society from prior to its formal incorporation in 2004 until shortly after the Reel Femme ‘10 festival in 2010, after which the society dissolved. The records include administration records from the society’s operations, such as grant applications, meeting minutes, society bylaws, and correspondence. Additionally, many records relate to the Reel Femme film festivals including flyers, programs, news clippings and publicity, film adjudication notes, and film classification exemption records. Also included are large posters advertising the Reel Femme film festivals.

The material is largely from the 1960s and 1970s, with some records dating between 1980-1994.

The records include meeting minutes, monthly newsletters, event planning, and financial reports. Additionally, numerous records relating to the local and national LGBTQ+ communities are included, such as the GALA Human Rights Committee and GALA Week, as well as LGBTQ+ business guides. Also included are numerous newspaper clippings related to Womonspace and the LGBTQ+ community.

It also includes records of the Ladies' Afternoon Bridge Club Convenor (1982-2008), Mixed Bridge Club Convenor (1972, 1980-1992), Photography Convenor (1977-1999) and The Painter Group Convenor (n.d.).

There are also photographs of executive members and events and a PowerPoint presentation of Club's history, 2009.

The fonds consists of material created or collected by Frederick Marshall, including records on McDougall Church, Rev. Rundle’s Mission in Alberta, patient newsletters from the Royal Alexandria Hospital, some promotional material for Edmonton and Fort Saskatchewan, and handwritten reminiscences by Frederick Marshall.

The photographs include several photos of Indigenous men, women and children, including Chief Full Moon, Chief Duck and Chief Hector Crawler, and a photograph of George T. Montgomery, Mayor of Fort Saskatchewan.

The fonds also includes books and periodicals: St. Paul’s United Church Edmonton (287.9 PAU 1956), Canadian Born and Other Western Verse (819 AND 1913), Mission Among the Buffalo: The Labours of the Reverends George M. and John C.
