The fonds consists of a report written by Professor B.Y. Card on the Beau Park Addition in the McKernan neighbourhood of Edmonton. The Report is named "Beau Park Addition or Life on the Bottom of McKernan Lake: A Report on a Neighborhood." The neighbourhood study includes important information about the area's history, finances, social demography, and future.

The fonds consists of articles collected by Jim Mitchell about places in Alberta, the Northwest territories, and British Columbia and dating from 1890 to 1979. There are also notes relating to the Mitchell homestead in Edmonton and a story about the Francis C. Clare family.
Mitchell, Jim L.The fonds consists of two copies, including a prologue, of a story written by Olive Kathleen Murdoch (nee Heathcote) written in 1978. The story recalls the experiences of the Heathcote family's experience while homesteading near Edmonton.
