This series contains maps that were found in the collection of the City of Edmonton Archives. The maps had no provenance, and were therefore combined into a single series.
The series consists of Volume 1 and Volume 2 of the Chas. E. Goad Co. Fire Insurance Plan for Edmonton in 1913, and a copy of a ca. 1925 Fire Insurance Plan for Edmonton. Fire Insurance Plans were created to document the types of buildings and types of materials used in an area, which in turn informed how insurance companies issued rates. The keyplan for each year can be used to narrow the area in which a specific location can be found to a volume, and then an individual map.
This series consists of aerial photographs taken of the City of Edmonton and surrounding areas. The series has been arranged into the following subseries:
This series contains resources that were created by the City of Edmonton Archives as a means of responding to frequent reference requests. It includes the following two documents:
A binder of photos of Mayors, Aldermen, and Councillors (324.9 PHO). It contains copies of photographs from our collection and the collection of other archives, ranging from 1892 to the early 2000s.
An annotated document called "Municipal elections in Edmonton, 1892-1998 : summary of results with short mayoral and aldermanic biographies" originally created by Joseph Rek (324.9 REK 1998).
