  • Edmonton Journal, July 10, 1954: Despite a real cool reception by the weatherman, Eskimo grid coach Frank Ivy, left, and club president Ken Montgomery were able to smile bravely for the people at the football rally in Renfrew Park last night. Montgomery greeted Ivy like a long lost friend when the tall Oklahoman, who was introduced to the crowd by the club president, bounded onto the platform at home plate.

Lew Woodruff of Georgia Tech., to Lyle's left, and Jay O'Neal from Oklahoma had just completed day-long flights from Altanta, Ga. and Oklahoma City and will just have time to get settled before starting to line up the work schedule with Lyle for the camp opening at Clarke Stadium (newspaper clipping).
