The series consists of records related to the operational functions of the Edmonton Social Planning Council (E.S.P.C.) and its communications and interactions with external organizations. During the E.S.P.C.'s early years, it acted as a coordinating body for other social agencies, therefore the series includes records pertaining to the council's interactions with a wide variety of organizations, government offices and persons. These include the Canadian Welfare Council, Youth Services, The John Howard Society, University of Alberta, Canadian Mental Health Association in Alberta and the Edmonton School Board, along with many others. Records include correspondence, reports, minutes, news clippings, and reference documentation. Minutes include those from related organizations and councils that the E.S.P.C. worked with, as well as the various committees within the council. Some of the records including, newsletters, programs and bulletins, relate to external organizations, at local, provincial, national and international levels. These records provide context for the E.P.S.C's work and interactions with these external organizations.

The series also includes records pertaining to the United Community Fund of Greater Edmonton (formerly Community Chest) which merged with the E.P.S.C. in 1953 and early correspondence with Charlotte Whitton, who founded the Canadian Council on Child Welfare in 1920.

The series consists of records pertaining to the operation and administrative functions of the Edmonton Art Gallery. Included in the series are financial records, reports, correspondence, certificates, and promotional materials. Also included in the series are plans relating to the acquisition of land for new gallery, records related to the Edmonton Art Club, and architecture design drawings for the gallery.
The series also includes records from the Blow Condell family who donated money to build the Edmonton Art Gallery in 1962. The building was named the Arthur Blow Condell Memorial Building after Dr. William Newton and Abigail Edith Condell's son who died in 1910.

This series consists of records related to the operational functions of the Garneau Community League. At the head of the community league was the executive committee which was elected by the registered members of the community league. The manager of the Garneau Community Centre reported to the executive committee along with the heads of the various sub-committees and clubs such as the Planning Committee and the Tennis and Lawn Bowling clubs. The executive committee was responsible for many of the initiatives undertaken by the League such as the Street Signs Project and organizing the programs that took place at the Centre. This series contains minutes, reports, correspondence, grant applications, contracts, newsletters, and programmes. These records provide context for the Community League’s role within the community and within Edmonton as a city. Also included are documents concerning leasing of the Garneau Community Centre to Catalyst Theatre.

This series includes the Sons of Norway newsletters from 1985 - 2016, as well as four commemorative photo books celebrating various Sons of Norway anniversaries. Also included are records relating to Torskeklubben, including meeting agendas and minutes, photographs, and scrapbooks. This series also contains 25 scrapbooks pertaining to the Sons of Norway’s activities from 1957 to 2005, as well as two of Astrid Hope’s scrapbooks which document her experiences in the Sons of Norway and Alberta’s Scandinavian community. Astrid Hope was a dedicated member of Sons of Norway for many decades, often serving on the executive board for the Sons of Norway and its various committees. The scrapbooks include news clippings, photographs, drawings, brochures, pamphlets, as well as other ephemera. Many of the scrapbooks feature handmade covers, including needlepoint and carved wood covers.
