Drive To Glory

  • Larry Isbell (94) of the Saskatchewan Roughriders was a main factor in edging the Edmonton Eskimos 23-22 in the first game of the WIFU finals. He is shown after taking Frank Tripucka's desperation third down pass in the final minutes to launch the victory drive. Moving in to stop him are Rollie Miles (98) and Bob Kimoff (Edmonton Journal, Nov. 13, 1956).

  • Leigh McMillan, #85, of Edmonton Eskimos tackles Primo Villaneueva, #87, of BC Lions in second quarter football action at Multnomah stadium. Villaneueva gained 14 yards on a pitch-out play. Curely Johnstone, #96, is ready to help on the tackle. The play ended on the Edmonton 42-yard line (newspaper clipping).
