This house was originally built in Beverly by George Waddell and stepson James Ward. George Waddell was a contractor in Edmonton, beginning around 1915 onwards. He built several homes in Edmonton including on the flats by the river, on 83rd Street, and on Jasper Avenue.
This home was moved from Beverly to the Highlands area in order to hook up to water and sewer utilities. James Ward and his wife Nancy lived in the home, and later George Waddell and his wife lived in the home until the 1970's.
