This series consists of documents related to the regular operation of the Foundation. Included in this series are minutes and agendas of the Board of Directors and various committees that reported to the Board, incorporation records, bylaws and their amendments, financial statements, budgets, annual general meetings including annual reports, correspondence, and other documents pertaining to the larger operation of the Foundation. The documents in this series have been arranged to roughly correspond to their subject matter. For example, files related to the Princess Theatre’s operation are grouped together though there may be some documents with higher file numbers to reflect later accruals to the collection.

This series consists of property and building inventories that the Old Strathcona Foundation collected and created for the purposes of historical preservation. Although some files were created by other institutions, such as the Alberta Provincial Government, with the originals existing in their own archival repositories, they were retained because their presence in the fonds conveys the efforts the Foundation took to establish their own heritage preservation system.

This series consists of the publications of the Old Strathcona Foundation as well as the publications of other institutions that formed the Foundation’s research library. The newsletters of the Foundation, as well as their longer-form periodical, the Strathcona Plaindealer, are included here. The Foundation also collected reports and publications from other institutions such as the City of Edmonton in an effort to advocate for the preservation of Old Strathcona’s history prior to amalgamation in 1912.

This series consists of the project files and recordings of the Voices of Old Strathcona Oral History Project. Although most of the interviewees were recorded, there are also some files where the interviewer took written notes rather than use the cassette recorder.

The series also contains reports and proceedings of the Rebekah Assembly of Alberta, as well as collected histories and publications from other administrative bodies within the I.O.O.F.

This series consists of minutes, financial ledgers, membership applications and certifications, and annual reports of the Maple Leaf Rebekah Lodge No. 2. The Lodge was established on March 11, 1907 with fifty-six candidates comprising 32 sisters and 24 brothers. In 2008, the Maple Leaf Rebekah Lodge absorbed the Unity Lodge membership to ease declining membership in both Lodges.

This series consists of membership application ledgers, financial statements, minutes, rolls of honor, challenge books, and receipt books. The Lodge was named after the first watch word of the Odd Fellows motto “Friendship, Love and Truth.”

Jewel Rebekah Lodge No. 25

This series is comprised of minutes, financial statements, membership ledgers, reports, certificates, constitutions, bylaws, and correspondence used in the operations of the Jewel Rebekah Lodge No. 25. The Lodge was established on July 4, 1912 with Sister Emeline Moffat as the Noble Grand. As Lodge membership declined in other I.O.O.F. and Rebekah organizations in the City, The Jewel Rebekah Lodge No. 25 became the custodian of the other organization’s records. In 2020, the Lodge itself had to close its doors due to dwindling membership.

Unity Rebekah Lodge No. 26

This series consists of minute ledgers and officer roll books from the Unity Rebekah Lodge No. 26. The Lodge was established on July 30, 1912 in Strathcona, Alberta before the town was amalgamated into Edmonton. In 2008, Unity Rebekah Lodge No. 26 ceased individual operations after its consolidation with Maple Leaf Rebekah Lodge No. 2.
