The file consists of volume 2 of the scrapbook 'The First Fifty Years: A Pictorial Review of the origin of the Parish of St. Anthony of Padua and the contributions made by the pioneers, both for the Church and in the Community'.
The scrapbook was compiled by Mary Wankel Dornan and Mae Bedard Green, and includes reminiscences on early Edmonton as well as family and community histories.
The scrapbook includes photographs EB-40-57 to EB-40-103.

Meadowcroft fonds

This fonds consists of material collected and created by Reg Appleyard, Doug Matheson, Rev. Harry Meadows, Matheson and Company, and the staff of Meadowcroft Seniors’ Residence through their function of running the Meadowcroft corporations and providing quality affordable housing in Edmonton between 1969 and 2010. It contains legal documents, correspondence, reports, committee minutes, pamphlets, photos, plans, audiovisual material and a book, ‘The Meadow’s Story’ (922.77 ROB).

Meadowcroft Housing Corporation
Gretchen Clink fonds

The fonds consists of a letter to Gretchen Clink from Ruth (Matheson) Buck, 17 Aug 1967. The letter includes some reminiscences of their time in Battleford together, as well as the activities of Ruth and her sisters, ‘The Matheson Girls’, to celebrate the 1967 Expo.

There is also a 1971 note and letter from Gretchen to Cam Finlay, the then Director of the City of Edmonton Archives. The note and letter include some information and reminiscences by Gretchen of some noted Edmontonians and Albertans, (Mrs. John T. Robertson, Dr. William M. McKay, J.W. & J.B. Tyrrell, Colin Fraser, Fred Rowland, and Alex Rowland).

Gretchen’s note also includes a pitch promoting Maclean Hunter’s historical map which, at the time, was given complimentary with a McLean’s subscription.

The fonds consists of political papers relating to Dr. Roper's tenure as Mayor of Edmonton from 1959 to 1963.
The photographs are from an album, presented to Elmer Roper by Chief Constable M.F.C. Anthony, commemorating the official opening of Police Headquarters Building, October 16, 1962.
The textual material was arranged as follows:

  • Speeches, includes proclamations, briefings and other statements.
  • General Correspondence, containing invitations and acknowledgements; complaints and compliments, and general commentaries on civic business; also includes files created by his immediate predecessors as mayor, William Hawrelak, mayor until his resignation in September 1959 and F.J. Mitchell, acting mayor until the municipal election in October 1959.
  • Miscellaneous Papers, including new clippings, reports, and incidental documents
