The series consists of engagements, complaints, speeches, correspondence, reports, and records relating to Mayors' conferences and public hearings, blank letterhead, and daily journals detailing the Mayor's meetings. It also includes a photo of the Centennial Mall Fountain (EA-353-12), four photos of a marigold glass dish presented to Queen Elizabeth II during her Commonwealth Games visit (EA-353-1 through EA-353-4).

The City Assessor's Department was responsible for raising the funds necessary for basic municipal services through the collection of taxes. The department assessed the value of businesses, land, real estate, and local improvements, maintained the records of tax assessments and payments for individual properties, and initiated action to collect overdue taxes.
This series contains records related to the assessment and collection of various municipal taxes. Aside from property taxes, the City also collected a service tax (essentially a municipal income tax), and a business tax, which was calculated as a percentage of the rental cost of certain business' commercial space or offices. When property taxes went into arrears, the City had the option of buying the property from the owner, or auctioning them off to collect taxes owed through tax sales.

The Edmonton Telephones Corporation (ED Tel) was created in 1990 as a result of the provincial Telecommunications Act, which allowed municipalities to provide telecommunications services and products through a wholly-owned subsidiary corporation, but not through a City department. In early 1994 the outgoing ED Tel President publicly raised the idea of selling the utility. Ultimately the Edmonton Telephones Corporation was sold to Telus on March 10, 1995 for $470,221,872.

Also included in the series are two guest books, photographs of various events and meetings the Society held and/or participated in, and a hand drawn poster of household Welsh vocabulary by Maggie Dower.
