Administration

The series consists of meeting minutes, agreements, financial records, personnel records, correspondence, and other material generated through the business conducted at the Municipal Airport.
An order has been imposed on the material. The arrangement includes four sub-series, which are as follows:

  • Sub-series 1.1 – Reports, minutes, general orders and record keeping
  • Sub-series 1.2 – Finance
  • Sub-series 1.3 – Buildings
  • Sub-series 1.4 – Human Resources (Restricted)

Administrative Records

This series contains records created through the administration of the Fire Department. The series has been divided into the following six subseries:

  • Subseries 1: Reports, minutes, general orders and record keeping
  • Subseries 2: Finance
  • Subseries 3: Agreements
  • Subseries 4: Buildings
  • Subseries 5: Human Resources
  • Subseries 6: Ephemera

City of Edmonton records

This series consists of correspondence, minutes of meetings, reports, studies, agreements, and assorted material relating to the involvement of different civic departments in the preparation for the 1978 Commonwealth Games.

This series has been divided into the following subseries:

  • Subseries 1: Administration records (1971-1978)
  • Subseries 2: Background Material records (1967-1975)
  • Subseries 3: City '78 records (1971-1978)
  • Subseries 4: XI Commonwealth Games Canada (1978) Foundation records (1972-1978)
  • Subseries 5: Consultants' records (1973-1977)
  • Subseries 6: Equipment records (1975-1978)
  • Subseries 7: Financial records (1974-1978)
  • Subseries 8: Management Advisory Committee records (1974-1978)
  • Subseries 9: Pre-Games Events records (1976-1978)
  • Subseries 10: Protocol records (1978)
  • Subseries 11: Related Events records (1972-1977)
  • Subseries 12: Studies (1971-1975)
  • Subseries 13: Venues records (1973-1981)

Jasper Place Engineering Department

This series consists of records created and collected by the Jasper Place Engineering Department. It includes project reports, updates, finances, correspondence, police reports on damage to infrastructure, personnel, and blueprints. This series also includes a plaque for the First Street Paving Program.

Town of Jasper Place Engineering Department

Administration

This series contains financial records, correspondence and memoranda relating to the work of the department, as well as resources used by its employees. The series includes a bookkeeping ledger used to track aggregate credits and debits between 1956 and 1974.

City Clerks and Administrative Records

This series consists of records related to the City Clerk's Office. This series contains the following subseries:

1.1 Bylaws and Licenses
This subseries contains correspondence, drafts, final copy, and enforcement regulations relating to bylaws and licenses enacted in the city.

1.2 Elections and Census
This subseries contains correspondence, drafts, promotional materials, information circulars, and other materials relating to elections and census studies held in the city.

1.3 Shared Management Services
This subseries contains records which deal with the number of services which were provided to many or all of the City's departments. This includes printing services, advertising and promotions, communications, information technology (IT) services, the Civic Garage, the legal department, the stores and works department, and the coordination of civic special events (such as VIP visits, anniversary celebrations and commemorations of historic events).

1.4 Mayor / Council Inquiries & Correspondence
This subseries contains correspondence, to and from the Mayor, Commissioners, and Councilors relating to issues raised for council action, including complaints and inquiries.

1.5 Departmental Reports / Policies
This subseries contains reports prepared by City departments, and policies and procedures they proposed to be approved by the Councilors.

1.6 Personnel / City Employees
This subseries contains correspondence and procedures dealing with city employees, including negotiations with unions, contract staff, benefits, and attendance at conferences.

1.7 Advisory and Standing Committees
This subseries contains correspondence, reports, action requests, and other administrative materials relating to committees struck by and reporting to City Council.

Commissioners' Reports (1906-1932)

The files in Sub-series 10.1 consist of an accounts ledger (1909-1920); Commissioner's reports to City Council (1923-1928); City of Edmonton monthly Departmental reports and statistics (1927- April 1932); and City of Edmonton Engineering Department summary of revenue and expenditures (1923, 1925-1927). Note that duplicates of these reports are also found in RG-11 Series 10.2, with the monthly Departmental reports and statistics and Engineering Department summaries often attached as addendum to the Commissioner's reports

Paul Norris

This series contains records created by Paul Norris while serving as an Alderman in the City of Edmonton. The majority of the records are alphabetical subject files of correspondence and council inquiries. There are also several boxes of correspondence with his constituents arranged chronologically. Some issues included in the constituents' correspondence also appear in the subject files.
