The fonds consists of a series of scrapbooks compiled by Emily Murphy covering all aspects of her varied career and dating from 1906 to 1933. The records include correspondence, reports and other material relating to her work as a magistrate as well as manuscripts of some of her many articles. Some of the material relating to Mrs. Murphy was collected by her daughter, Evelyn Gowan Murphy, after Mrs. Murphy died. Scrapbooks include clippings concerning the death of Arthur Murphy and the lives of Evelyn and her sister, Emily Kenwood.
The photographs include 2 of Emily Murphy and 2 of dust jackets from her books “Janey Canuck In The West” and “Open Trails”.

The records document the professional and personal lives of the members of the Sache and Christie families. Material includes correspondence, business papers, engineering papers, books, postcards, and blueprints. The first 43 files primarily concern the Sache family while the remaining files primarily concern the Christie family. The records contained in this fonds provide insight into how real estate and construction business was conducted in Edmonton's early history. In addition, these records showcase how very interconnected the prominent families of Edmonton's early history were.

The fonds consists predominantly of photographs covering three generations and five of the six branches of the W. Scott Robertson family. The photographs include Frederic’s parents (Robert and Isabel Robertson), siblings, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.

There are also many unidentified photographs but it is likely these belonged to Frederic’s mother-in-law, Cassie Bain Foley, as ‘C.B.’ is written on the back of the photos.

The textual records consist of one birthday card from Alice J. Wright (Frederic’s maternal grandmother) to Bob, likely Robert Robertson (Frederic’s father) (n.d.) and a calendar card from Isabel Wright Robertson (Frederic’s mother) to ‘Dolly’ (1939).

William A. Griesbach fonds

The fonds consists of William Griesbach’s political, military, and personal papers, as well as numerous books from his personal library.

Political papers consist of reports, correspondence, contracts, and financial documents concerning the City of Edmonton and the City of Strathcona between 1892 and 1935. There is also a 1912 Edmonton Subdivision map (EAM-178).

Military papers include correspondence, clippings, programs, pamphlets and other materials related to Major-General Griesbach's military career, created between 1919 and ca.1943.

Personal papers include correspondence, financial documents, theatre programmes and other materials relating to Griesbach's personal activities and interests. It includes correspondence on the memorial window in the Cathedral Church of All Saints in Edmonton.

The books reflect the various aspects of Griesbach’s life, career, and interests covering military, political, diplomatic, economic, and historical topics. It should be noted that the books published after Griesbach’s death in 1945 were added by the Western Command HQ Library.

This fonds consists of a menu card, a manuscript account of Peter Anderson’s escape from a prisoner-of-war camp in Germany during World War I; a letter written from the Bischofswerda camp to his son, Bert; humorous regimental orders and a uniform button for the 101st Edmonton Fusiliers (9th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force).
