The Board consisted of five members of the public, appointed by Council, including a member of the Alberta Architects Association, a member of the Alberta Land Surveyors Association, and a member of the Edmonton Real Estate Association. The Board heard appeals from zoning decisions made by the Building Inspector. The Board was governed by the Zoning Bylaw, but in certain circumstances could make recommendations to Council for alterations to zoning boundaries.
