This subseries consists of the original ledgers used to record information regarding Civic Elections and Census Enumeration throughout the City of Edmonton's polling districts. Each ledger corresponds to one polling district within the City and were carried by City staff to each address in the district to record information regarding the occupants. The ledgers from 1945 onwards include name, address, if they are a British subject, if they own property, their section of either Protestant of Catholic for school taxes, their marital status, the name of their employer, the number of people in the residence under the age of 21 and their gender, and the type of dwelling in which they reside.

This subseries contains maps that were used by the Office of the City Clerk in its function administering civic elections and census enumeration. In addition to voting and census maps, land use maps and maps of neighborhood and community league boundaries are also included.

This series contains correspondence, reports, and other records created in the pursuit of preparing for and carrying out municipal censuses and elections.

The Town Clerk and Treasurer was responsible for undertaking a census of residents and voter enumeration. The first census was done in April 1954, and periodically thereafter with the final one completed in April 1964.

This series consists of records documenting Law's work in establishing Edmonton Telephones and Edmonton Power as subsidiary corporations and the subsequent sale of Ed Tel to Telus.

This series consists of records documenting Law's involvement with Edmonton's bylaw process. It includes documents regarding Law's involvement in challenges of bylaws of historic significance, including the Lord's Day Act Bylaw allowing businesses to operate on Sundays, Carruthers Caveat restricting development in Glenora, dumping sewage into the North Saskatchewan river, the taxi bylaw and the change to taxis being solely functional via a dispatcher office, and the business license bylaw and how it applies to various types of massage clinics. The remainder of the series involves bylaws regarding the closure of roadways and alleyways for construction projects and parks including Keillor Road, and the funding of construction projects.
