This series contains reports from the Finance Committee. The Finance Committee was established in 1914. The Committee discussed City financial matters and reported to Council. The Finance Committee was succeeded by the Finance and Budgeting Committee, then the Economic Affairs Committee.
This series contains reports from the Bylaws Committee. The Bylaws & Legislation Committee held their first meeting September 7, 1921. The name was changed in 1928 to the Bylaws Committee.
In 1965 Council requested that the City Commissioners look into the continued need of the Bylaws and Finance Committees. Council accepted their recommendation that a Committee of the Whole be struck to handle the issues previously dealt with by those two committees. The final meeting of the Bylaws Committee occurred April 11, 1965.
This series includes correspondence relating to municipal elections, personnel, the development of parks and recreational facilities, planning, and the proposed Civic Centre/Omniplex. There are also small amounts of material related to finances, utilities, housing, welfare and social services, and the police and fire departments. This series was divided into 177 Classes.
The coronation of George VI and his wife Elizabeth as King and Queen of the United Kingdom took place May 12, 1937. In preparation, a meeting was held by the City of Edmonton March 10, 1937 to discuss a suitable form of celebration for the occasion. The Edmonton Coronation Celebration Committee was thus established, charged with formulating the plans for the observance and celebration of the event. This series contains minutes, correspondence, and financial records of the Committee and it's various subcommittees.
This series contains the original City Crest designed by R. B. Mackenzie adopted by Council in 1949. For more information about the activities of this committee, see RG-11 Series 1.4 files 204-206, and 208-209.

This series contains minutes, agendas and correspondence from the Land Sales Committee. The Land Sales Committee was responsible for the approval of all land sales and purchases by the City.
This series consists of meeting minutes, agendas, attachments, reports to Council, and correspondence created by the Utilities and Engineering Committee. Over the years the Committee had various names, including the Utilities Committee (1968-1971), the Utilities and Engineering Committee (1971-1982), the Utilities and Protective Services Committee (1982-1984), and the Utilities and Finance Committee (1984).
Between 1968 and 1972 only the meeting minutes were filed, with associated attachments being kept separately in subject files. Between 1973 and 1978 meeting minutes were filed with agendas, attachments, and associated reports to Council. Starting in December of 1978 reports to Council were filed separately.
This series consists of records created by the Public Affairs Committee. It includes meeting minutes, agendas and attachments from 1968-1985 (files 1-503), reports to Council from 1968-1981 (files 504-705) and Committee correspondence from 1968-1973 (files 706-883).
