Guan, Yong FeiThis sub-series contains correspondence, reports, minutes, and other material relating to City recreation facilities. It also contains material from community organizations that worked closely with recreation facility staff.
The series consists of records pertaining to Gail Hall's catering company Gourmet Goodies. Records include newsletters, recipes, culinary tour information, promotional materials, menus, financial records, and a guest book. Also included in the series are photograph of various Gourmet Goodies staff, events, and food.
Gourmet GoodiesThe Camsell Arrow and Pictorial was a publication of the staff and patients of the Charles Camsell Hospital. Included in the publication are articles and letters about current events, tuberculosis treatment procedures, home and lifestyle suggestions related to health, and letters from patients about their time at the hospital. Also included are photographs of patients, illustrations and cartoons.
This series contains digitized issues of the Camsell Arrow and Pictorial that were collected by the Archives from a variety of donors.
This subseries consists of volume 1 and 2 of the Chas E. Goad Co. Fire Insurance Plan for Edmonton.
The series consists of textual records and photographs predominantly pertaining to Harold and Winnifred Ross, and to a lesser extent their daughter Jeane. The textual records includes postcards written from Winnie to some of her family and from Harold to Winnie shortly before they were married. Some photographs include other family members of the Ross and Thompson families. The records reflect Harold and Winnie’s life from coming west as young single adults, becoming a family in Edmonton before Harold went off to war, and Winnie’s later life on the farm in Millet.
Ross FamilyThis subseries contains reports, promotional materials, architectural plans, photographs and artwork related to work done by Roman Fodchuk and Associates Ltd. on the Capital City Recreation Park. This project was completed through a partnership between the City of Edmonton and the Government of Alberta. The project was created to provide the public new accessible ways to access and entertain in nature including hiking, biking, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, snowshoeing, picnic spaces and water sports. Roman also put a great deal of work into protecting the natural wildlife by limiting erosion, creating the wildlife thoroughfare where there was none before, and strategic planting to encourage longevity of the park through native plant species.
Parks covered by this project include: Kinsmen Park, Queen Elizabeth Park, Baden-Powell Park, Cloverdale Park, Grierson Hill Park, Forest Heights Park, Dawson Park, Riverside Park, Kinnaird Ravine, Highlands Park, Capilano Park, Lower and Upper Gold Bar Park, Floden Park, Lower and Upper Rundle Park, Strathcona Science Park and Hermitage Park.
This series consists of records related to the operational functions of the Garneau Community League. At the head of the community league was the executive committee which was elected by the registered members of the community league. The manager of the Garneau Community Centre reported to the executive committee along with the heads of the various sub-committees and clubs such as the Planning Committee and the Tennis and Lawn Bowling clubs. The executive committee was responsible for many of the initiatives undertaken by the League such as the Street Signs Project and organizing the programs that took place at the Centre. This series contains minutes, reports, correspondence, grant applications, contracts, newsletters, and programmes. These records provide context for the Community League’s role within the community and within Edmonton as a city. Also included are documents concerning leasing of the Garneau Community Centre to Catalyst Theatre.
