This collection consists of records created and collected by Dr. Evans in his work regarding Chinese immigration and settlement in Western Canada. The records consist of original research materials written by Dr. Evans, copies of newspaper clippings of events featuring members of the Chinese community, and copies of documents originally found in Library and Archives Canada regarding Chinese immigration and movement.

The fonds consists of records from Dr. Holmes's professional career and personal life.

The fonds also includes photographs though it is not certain how the photographs relate to Dr. Holmes. The photos include group portraits (University of Alberta Drama Club 1922-1923, Canadian Officers Training Corps 1925-1926, University of Alberta Freshman Class 1921-1922), a panorama photograph of the Al Azhar Convention in Calgary, 1913 and a photograph of the visit of Alice of Athlone to the Colonel Mewburn Hospital, 1941.

The fonds (or collection) consists of David Leonard’s research, notes and final manuscript of the book on Richard Secord, ‘A Builder of the Northwest: The Life and Times of Richard Secord’ (1981).
The photographs include a photo of the members of the 1886 N.W.T. Legislature and a portrait photograph of David Leonard that was used for an Edmonton Historical Board Award in 1989.
