The bust, sculpted by John Weaver, was a gift from the City of Edmonton to the City of Calgary in honour of their centennial anniversary.
To celebrate CP Air's first non-stop flight from Edmonton to Honolulu the City sent a Klondike Days lighter encased in ice and a letter from Mayor Ivor Dent.
