This series consists of reports and publications not produced by the Edmonton Social Planning Council (E.S.P.C.) or any of its divisions or committees. In its role as a research organization, the Edmonton Social Planning Council maintained an extensive library of records for use in social research. The E.S.P.C. would provide individual members and member organizations with access to these materials. Materials include reports published by both government and non-governmental organizations.
Sin títuloThis series consists of photographs which mostly depict residential and commercial buildings, but there are also photos of individuals, events, civic infrastructure and facilities, and proposed developments. There are also maps and architectural drawings which are predominantly associated with plans for development and construction.
This series consists of records of some of the clubs described above, but predominantly Club 70, The Imperial Sovereign Court of the Wild Rose (ISCWR) and The Roost Nightclub. There are early administrative records for Club 70, as well as newsletters and photographs. ISCWR records include Coronation programs and information from the first coronation in 1976, and then further programs and records from courts held from 1985 to 2009. There are numerous event and promotion files for The Roost Nightclub, including monthly event calendars, broadsheets and flyers, news clippings and event posters. Included with the records were Roost Nightclub plaques and trophies.
Sin títuloThis series includes material created by the Special Events Office, a centralized body created in the early 1980s to administer significant civic events. This was a departure from previous special events, which were arranged by organizing committees. The events reflected in these records include the openings of Police Headquarters and the new Convention Centre, the City’s 80th anniversary celebrations, the visit of Pope John Paul II, the military tattoo which resulted in the creation of the Mayors Chain of Office, and the Tribach Festival. The records also include material relating to the replacement of the Commission Board with the Office of the City Manager.
This series contains posters that were either anonymously sent to the Archives or found in the collection of the City of Edmonton Archives. The posters had no provenance, and were therefore combined into a single series. The posters relate to festivals, theatre productions, community events, and fundraisers held in the Edmonton area.
This series contains issues of The Suburban Times, an independent weekly newspaper serving the Town of Jasper Place.
