Gravestone - John and Annie Walter

This marker for the Walter family is located at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. John Walter was an early employee of the Hudson's Bay Company, and the first settler on the south river bank. He started a variety of industries on the south bank, including a ferry business, a saw mill, and coal mine. He and his wife were central figures in Strathcona society.
