Crowd On Jasper Avenue
CA EDM MS-1192-1-EB-23-72 · Item · [ca. 1913]
Part of Byron, May Family fonds

North Side of Jasper Avenue between Queen Avenue (99 Street) and McDougall Avenue (100 Street). Established businesses include The Yale Hotel, Royal Bank, My Dairy Lunch, George F. Watcher Jeweller, McCutcheon Bros Real Estate, and Ramsay Walter Florist.

However many of these storefronts are covered by temporary signs for oil and land speculation companies. These include Northland Resources, Peidmont Petroleum, The Phoenix Oil Co., Dome Oil Stock, Scott & Phillips Real Estate, Taylor & Hunter Real Estate, and Robertson-Davidson Real Estate. This shows one of the boom times in Edmonton and the high interest in land and oil speculation.
