Parte de Garneau Community League fonds

This series consists of records related to the operational functions of the Garneau Community League. At the head of the community league was the executive committee which was elected by the registered members of the community league. The manager of the Garneau Community Centre reported to the executive committee along with the heads of the various sub-committees and clubs such as the Planning Committee and the Tennis and Lawn Bowling clubs. The executive committee was responsible for many of the initiatives undertaken by the League such as the Street Signs Project and organizing the programs that took place at the Centre. This series contains minutes, reports, correspondence, grant applications, contracts, newsletters, and programmes. These records provide context for the Community League’s role within the community and within Edmonton as a city. Also included are documents concerning leasing of the Garneau Community Centre to Catalyst Theatre.

Edmonton Radial Railway Society fonds

The fonds consists of records both collected and created by the ERRS.

The collected records include ‘cancelled notices’ likely from the office of the Superintendant of the Edmonton Radial Railway. These notices cover a variety of topics and issues, including behavior of drivers, changes to routes and services, driving instructions, repairs to trolley cars and employee events. These records reflect the daily operations of the Edmonton Radial Railway.

The records created by the ERRS include proposals for buildings at Fort Edmonton Park, correspondence, and the group’s newsletter ‘The Trip Sheet’.

The photograph was used for an Edmonton Historical Board award given to the ERRS in 1990.

The fonds consists of the records of the Edmonton Club and includes minutes, correspondence, membership registers, maps, building plans, constitutions, rule books, reports, menus, acts of incorporation, and financial statements. The photographs consist of headshots of the Presidents of the Edmonton Club, as well as a few images of the Club’s annual general meetings and of the Imperial Bank of Canada both as it was being built and when it was completed in 1907. Large membership registers and bound guest books are also included.

This series consists of periodical publications produced by the Edmonton Social Planning Council (E.S.P.C.). First Reading was a newsletter publication that began in 1982 with the goal of informing members of the E.S.P.C. and the public about social policies under consideration by the government and the potential implications of such policies. The newsletter ran until 1998. Alberta Facts, which later became Edmonton Facts, was an insert in the First Reading newsletter. It later became an insert published four times a year in Vue Weekly, an alternative newspaper published in Edmonton.

The extant files are all related to GALOC except for one poster pertaining to Women’s Studies on campus. GATE records are described in Series 1, and editions of 'The Pink Triangle' newspaper are listed as part of Series 13. Campus Pride Festival events and activities were kept where they were originally located with the Pride planning files described in Series 5. Finally, one file related to ELGRO mentioned in the history is located with Box 36, folder 54.
