The Town Clerk and Treasurer was responsible for undertaking a census of residents and voter enumeration. The first census was done in April 1954, and periodically thereafter with the final one completed in April 1964.

The remainder of the series involves bylaws regarding the closure of roadways and alleyways for construction projects and parks including Keillor Road, and the funding of construction projects.

This series includes the minutes of Edmonton Town Council from 1892-1904, and from Edmonton City Council from 1904-1991, as well as agendas from 1913-1945.

This series contains the original City Crest designed by R. B. Mackenzie adopted by Council in 1949. For more information about the activities of this committee, see RG-11 Series 1.4 files 204-206, and 208-209.

This series includes material created at City Hall for ceremonial purposes, such as guest books; material relating to the City’s corporate identity such as flags, a tartan, and a City crest; and documents meant to raise awareness such as proclamations. It also includes discrete items relating to specific special events and miscellaneous reports collected by the department.

The material in this series is not part of a particular business unit, function, or Committee for which we have records. Since nothing else exists at present to contextualize the material, it has been described as a series of discrete items.
