This fonds consists of agreements, brochures, correspondence, manuals, meeting minutes, newsletters, press clippings, media releases, and promotional material relating to the Business Development Department.
The fonds has been divided into five series. Wherever possible this division was done with respect to the original order of the fonds. These five series are as follows:
Fonds reflects the evolution of the Community and Family Services Department and the responsibilities it was tasked with during its existence. The textual records consist of: annual reports, statistics, financial statements, correspondence, policy statements, newsletters, minutes, photographs, forms, mission statements, lists of citizens, and other material. The original record order as found in 2016 has been retained, though an intellectual arrangement has been provided in the finding aid.
This fonds contains copies of photos donated by the Edmonton Public Library, as well as reports written by the Edmonton Public Library, and early architectural drawings of the proposed Civic Centre. It has been divided into the following three series:

Series 3: Morrell & Nichols Proposed Civic Centre Drawings
This fonds contains the records of the City Assessor's Department and its predecessor body, the Office of the City Assessor, including correspondence, forms, and tax assessment and tax collector's rolls.

This fonds consists of records created by the Engineer’s Department, and includes correspondence, financial information, and other records created as a result of doing their work. An arrangement has been placed on the records. They have been placed into the following series:
Class 50.0: Engineer’s Department Records, 1901-1962
Class 50.1: Engineer’s Department Records, 1911-1968
This fonds consists of minutes, reports, correspondence, speeches, and other records relating to the functions performed by the Mayor of Edmonton that were sent to the City of Edmonton Archives by the Mayor's Office
An order has been imposed on the material. Files are arranged in alphabetically while material within the files are arranged chronologically. Wherever possible original file titles were retained.
