This series consists of GALA’s administrative records including their bylaws and constitution, financial statements, meeting minutes and correspondence. In addition, there are copies of GALA grant applications, and records related to a GALA sponsored Symposium entitled “Flaunting It!” held in Edmonton in 1990. The meeting minutes and documents of the GALA-Police Liaison Committee are retained in this series, although after 1994, the Committee broadens its title to the LGBTQ Community/Edmonton Police Service Liaison Committee, and committee records continue until 2005.

The records include administration records from the society’s operations, such as grant applications, meeting minutes, society bylaws, and correspondence. Additionally, many records relate to the Reel Femme film festivals including flyers, programs, news clippings and publicity, film adjudication notes, and film classification exemption records. Also included are large posters advertising the Reel Femme film festivals.

The fonds consists of a written history of the Edmonton Scottish Society prepared by one of its members in 1976.

The history contains information about the origins of Highland dancing, in addition to details specific to ten individual dances.

Sin títuloThe fonds consists of the records of The Whale Society of Edmonton from shortly before its formal incorporation in 1979 until shortly after its dissolution in 1983. The records include correspondence, newsletters, briefing notes, public presentations, posters, financial records, and minutes of meetings. Also included in the records is a T-Shirt designed by a Society member and sold as a fundraising item at public events. The banner used by the Society to identify their booth at public events is also included. There are also information files initially created by Dr. Dennis Wighton of the Department of Genetics, University of Alberta. These files were used by the Society in the development of their newsletters, merchandise, and briefing notes to government officials.
