Access Copies

This subseries consists of published copies of voters' and burgesses' lists produced from the original ledgers used to gather the information from districts across the City of Edmonton. The published copies amalgamate multiple districts into fewer ledgers, usually three to five, depending on the year. The published copies also incorporate any revisions or edits that may have been made to the information drawn from the original ledgers and were used as reference copies.

Discrete Items

This series includes material created at City Hall for ceremonial purposes, such as guest books; material relating to the City’s corporate identity such as flags, a tartan, and a City crest; and documents meant to raise awareness such as proclamations. It also includes discrete items relating to specific special events and miscellaneous reports collected by the department.

The material in this series is not part of a particular business unit, function, or Committee for which we have records. Since nothing else exists at present to contextualize the material, it has been described as a series of discrete items.

Youth Related Organizations/Resources

This is a small series, but one that may well expand as further accruals are received. The records consist of documents related to GATE’s Gay and Lesbian Youth Group, the Pink Triangle Youth Group of Edmonton and other GLCCE youth initiatives. The bulk of the series consists of printed resources and reference materials related to counselling gay and lesbian youth; related youth studies and reports; and some correspondence. Included with the papers are three pink triangle t-shirts created for Pride ’92 week.
