The fonds consists of photographs taken by Gordon Wilkins. The images are of early Edmonton, including unidentified people who may be members of the Wilkins family, houses, horses or horse and buggy, mining activity, John Walter’s ferry, Indigenous peoples and other events in Edmonton. It also includes photos of Gordon working at Kline’s Jewelry and the Kline family.

Egge Family fonds

The fonds consists of a hand written history of the Egge family, including moving from Edmonton to Halfway Lake on the Athabasca Trail, possibly partly written by Les Egge (the text is in two handwritings).
Photographs include the Egge stopping house and other stopping houses on Athabasca Landing Trail, Egge farm, members of Egge extended family, freighters and other travellers, other individuals associated with the Athabasca Landing Trail district.
The records include references to Edith Benner, Clara Egge, Jessie Egge, Jack Flyn, Percy Hardisty, Albert Kennedy, Karl Kirstin, Jack Lord, Bill Reynolds, Mr. Strutton, Jack Sulley and Ed Williams.

The fonds consists of a photocopy of land grant to Kenneth McDonald for 160 acres of River Lot 20, Edmonton Settlement, Jan.21, 1886, Homestead No. 34509 and one envelope addressed to Mrs. Duncan McLelland c/o Henareth [Kenneth?] McDonald. The photographs include William McDonald and family, and a photograph postcard of a Blackfoot man with a pony and teepee.

The fonds consists of photocopied transcripts of letters and articles written by Ernest S. George and the certificate of membership of E.S. George to the Northern Alberta Pioneers and Old-Timers Association, Dec. 31, 1926. It also includes a photocopied transcript of an article by Barbara Mary George, Ernest George's mother. The photograph is a portrait of Ernest George, ca. 1962 that was used for an Edmonton Historical Board award in 1977.

This fonds consists of the administrative records of Orlando Books, including invoices, rental agreements, correspondence, a visitor log book, newspaper clippings and records relating to the opening and closing of Orlando Books. Additionally, this fonds contains substantial records relating to Edmonton’s queer community, including the Vriend v. Alberta case, activism in Edmonton, the OK Awareness Campaign, the EPOCH project, and the development of the “Safe and Caring Schools for Lesbian and Gay Youth: A Guide for Teachers” pamphlet distributed by the Alberta Teachers Association. Also included in this fonds are a number of photographs, as well as newspaper clippings and articles about the bookselling and publishing industries.
