Stan Williams fonds

Warren between 1918 and 1948, including an assortment of cartoons relating to Royal Canadian Mounted Police life ca. 1917?; ration books from World War II; a promotional leaflet for Seeds of Pine by Janey Canuck (Emily Murphy), a draft outline of play, possibly based on actual criminal events, 1927; a poem, "Kate (saddle horse regt'l no. 2048)" by Cst. H. Raymond F. Corley fonds

The fonds consists of research papers written by Raymond Corley on the history and development of the Edmonton Interurban Railway and the Edmonton, Yukon and Pacific Railway.

The Edmonton Interurban Railway ran between Edmonton and St. Albert. The line opened on September 30, 1913, and was partially phased into the Edmonton Radial Railway System in 1916. In 1920, the system was purchased by the City of Edmonton.

The Edmonton, Yukon & Pacific Railway was the first railway built into Edmonton, before amalgamation with Strathcona. The EY&P railway connected with the Calgary and Edmonton Railway (C&E) and eventually became part of the Canadian North Railway.

The records include the original research papers, with subsequent revisions.
Note – the later revisions are only the pages that were changed, not the entire paper.

Corley, Raymond F.

This fonds consists of documents relating to Andrekson’s work as a volunteer for various organizations. The majority of the material is related to Andrekson’s work with the Edmonton Civic Centennial Committee, an organization formed to celebrate Canada’s 100th anniversary of Confederation.

The remainder of the material consists of records from Andrekson’s other activities as a volunteer, namely as part of the Commonwealth Games hosted in Edmonton in 1978, and the 1983 Universiade Games, also hosted in Edmonton. The records related to these events are comprised of both organizational material, such as minutes and reports of the boards, as well as promotional material meant to be given to the public or displayed during the specific events.

The photographs are of events at Universiade ’83, including the opening and closing ceremonies and a variety of athletic events.

Some photographs are of Kaleidoscope ’83, the cultural arm of Universiade ’83, which consisted of a variety of cultural performances and displays held during the Universiade games.

The fonds consists of the records of The Whale Society of Edmonton from shortly before its formal incorporation in 1979 until shortly after its dissolution in 1983. The records include correspondence, newsletters, briefing notes, public presentations, posters, financial records, and minutes of meetings. Also included in the records is a T-Shirt designed by a Society member and sold as a fundraising item at public events. The banner used by the Society to identify their booth at public events is also included. There are also information files initially created by Dr. Dennis Wighton of the Department of Genetics, University of Alberta. These files were used by the Society in the development of their newsletters, merchandise, and briefing notes to government officials.

The fonds consists of correspondence, minutes, reports, news clippings, notes and publications relating to the Citizens' Save Our Parks Association, 1965-ca. 1977; the Plebiscite Committee, 1965-1966; the Urban Reform Group Edmonton (URGE), 1973-1982; the Oliver Community Group, 1975; and her opposition to construction of a roadway in MacKinnon Ravine, 1965-1984.

The textual records reflect Hollingworth’s business and photography work, as well as his family and household life. There are also records where it is not known how they are specifically related to Hollingworth, so it has been assumed he collected the pieces. These records, as well as the books and maps, reflect Hollingworth's variety of interests.

The photographs cover a wide array of Edmonton including buildings and street scenes, activities and events, as well as people and businesses.
