In 1997, Rodney Pike donated material he gathered in 1988 for a Historical Society of Alberta lecture on "The Prairie Contribution to the Canadian Navy." This material includes his own recollections of the Second World War, as well as information he gathered from friends who were also from the west and who served in the RCN.
