This poster is an advertisement for the WWF Summer Sizzler Tour on August 19,1994 at the Northlands Agricom. The main event included fights between Bret “Hit Man” Hart, Razor Ramon, Owen Hart, and Jim Neidhart. The poster is brightly coloured and features photographs of the wrestlers.

Winterscape

Thelma Manary (1913-1984) was an Edmonton-based artist known for her miniature etchings and large semi-abstract landscapes (working in oil, watercolour, and mixed media). She was a member of the Edmonton Art Club, the Alberta Society of Artists, and was an associated member of the Society of Canadian Printers-Etchers and Engravers. She served on the board of the Edmonton Art Club, and worked at the Edmonton Art Gallery for many years.
Manary had a particular interest in trees, especially the barrenness of winter trees. This painting was submitted to the Edmonton Art Club show in 1961, and was featured on the cover of the catalogue for that year.

Born in 1913, M. Kathleen Kaufman joined the Edmonton Art Club in 1934, and participated in club exhibitions between 1935 and 1953. She submitted a work titled “A Winter Trail” in 1936 which could be this piece. Kaufman married Keith Cardiff in April, 1943, changing her name to M. Kathleen Cardiff. She would go on to become a member of the Alberta Society of Artists, and serve as the Treasurer of the Edmonton Art Club. She began studying printmaking in the 1950s, learning silk screening and serigraphy under George Weber at the Edmonton Art Gallery, as well as taking courses at the University of Alberta’s Department of Extension. She moved to Toronto in 1959, later settling in Ontario.
