Frederic Beverly Robertson was born to Isobel Wright and Robert A. Robertson on 4 Oct 1911 in Edmonton. He is the grandson of W. Scott Robertson, Edmonton’s first Sheriff.
Frederic married Norma Foley in 1939 in Saskatoon. The couple settled in Edmonton and they had three children – Lynn, Robert, and John.
Frederic worked for the Swift Canadian Company and then was the founding President and owner of Western Brand Products in Edmonton.
Frederic B. Robertson died 6 Feb 2005 in Kelowna, B.C. and is inurned in the Edmonton Cemetery.
Custodial history
Norma Robertson is the wife of Frederick M. Robertson. Lynn Robertson Neufeld is the daughter of Norma and Frederick Robertson.
Scope and content
The fonds consists predominantly of photographs covering three generations and five of the six branches of the W. Scott Robertson family. The photographs include Frederic’s parents (Robert and Isabel Robertson), siblings, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.
There are also many unidentified photographs but it is likely these belonged to Frederic’s mother-in-law, Cassie Bain Foley, as ‘C.B.’ is written on the back of the photos.
The textual records consist of one birthday card from Alice J. Wright (Frederic’s maternal grandmother) to Bob, likely Robert Robertson (Frederic’s father) (n.d.) and a calendar card from Isabel Wright Robertson (Frederic’s mother) to ‘Dolly’ (1939).
