- Slippery Sam - Houston ace Don Flynn had his greatest hours as an Eskimoe over the crucial holiday weekend, sparking Esks to a pair of thrilling victories over Calgary Stampeders. Here he is shown at the tag end of a 17-yard gain and two plays later he took a 26-yard pass from Jackie Parker for a touchdown late in the second quarter. Left with an armful of air is Calgary fullback and linerbacker Jim Bakhtiar while an unidentifed teammate nails Flynn from behind. Rushing up too late for assistance is cornerback Lynn Bottoms. Esks won 17-10 Saturday and 19-14 Monday at Calgary (newspaper clipping).
