Administrative history
The Edmonton Hungarian Cultural Society was founded and registered by Hungarian immigrants in February 1945 after the population displacement caused by the Second World War. The society was established to provide a community for Hungarians in Edmonton and Alberta in addition to promoting Hungarian culture to the larger community. In 1971, the Society incorporated and became the Canadian Hungarian Cultural Society of Edmonton.
