Administrative history
“Dania”, the Danish Society of Edmonton was formed in 1921. It was dormant during the war years but as Danish immigrants to Canada increased after 1945 the Society was revived as a social and athletic club for Danes and people of Danish decent in the Edmonton area. As a society Dania strives to promote Danish heritage among the descendants of those early members who arrived from Denmark since 1920. Throughout the year, Dania puts on various activities including dinner and dance nights offering traditional Danish food. It is currently known as Dania – The Danish-Canadian Society of Edmonton.
