Biographical history

Charles Edward K. Cox was born in England. He and his wife immigrated to Canada in 1907 and he was City Clerk for Edmonton AB from 1912 to 1934. He was active with various Edmonton musical organizations, including the Strathcona Choral Society, which he organized in 1908, and the Alberta Music Festival, for which he served as President. He was also a prominent member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, particularly involved with its choir.
Charles Edward K. Cox died on 6 Feb 1937.

Custodial history

This record was originally included with Northern Alberta Pioneers and Old Timers Association photographs (formerly EA-10-3003), but there is no documentation concerning its deposit in the Archives.

Scope and content

This fonds consists of an address and presentation to Charles Edward K. Cox by Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Edmonton AB on his resignation as Choirmaster, Dec. 22, 1919.
