Administrative history

Belmont School District No. 23 was established on 9 May 1885. An early teacher at the school was James Bond Steele of Beaver Lake, Alberta. His brother was Samuel Benfield Steele.
The Belmont School District No. 23 is no longer active but it is not known when it ceased.

Custodial history

Elsie (Steele) Duncan was the daughter of James Bond Steele.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of hand written pages of the school newspaper, 'The Star.'
