Notice biographique

Beatrice Gremm was born 15 Jul 1902 to Alice Devitt and Henry Gremm, in High River, Alberta. Her father, Henry Gremm, was from Waterloo, Ontario. Henry and Alice were married in 1899 in Waterloo, Ontario and a few years later moved to High River, Alberta to homestead.

In 1940 Beatrice Gremm married Alexander Dunn in Edmonton. She taught at Alberta College for many years and also taught English as a Second Language at the Young Men's Christian Association (Y.M.C.A.).

Alexander B. Dunn died 2 Jan 1973 and Beatrice Gremm Dunn died 4 Apr 1994.
They are buried in the Westlawn Memorial Gardens in Edmonton.

Historique de la conservation

It is not known how Beatrice acquired the bond and land sale agreement, Waterloo, Ontario; though her father, Henry Gremm was from Waterloo, Ontario.

Portée et contenu

The fonds consists of materials collected by Beatrice Dunn, including cards, hand written financial contracts, insurance policy and coupons. The photographs include farming in High River, most likely her father’s farm, and the family home where Beatrice grew up. There is also a baby photo of Beatrice’s older brother Herbert (1901).
