Ezekiel Keith was a resident of the Clover Bar district, now part of southeast Edmonton, born there in 1883 on his parent's homestead. He lived and worked on the homestead and his own farm for his whole life, participating in many community endeavours. He served as councilor and reeve for the Municipal District of Strathcona for 35 years, as well as serving as a school trustee, and a member of the Edmonton Agricultural Exhibition board. He was one of the founders of the Edmonton Union of Municipal Districts. He married Edith Hutton, also of Clover Bar district, in 1914 and had three daughters. He also ran a coal company in the 1930s under the name of E. Keith Coal Company. After his retirement Mr. Keith served as president of the Northern Alberta Pioneers and Old Timers Association. Mr. Keith passed away in 1968.
