Georgia A. Miller, was born August 27, 1897 in Castleton, Ontario and arrived in Edmonton with her family on June 17, 1902. Her father, Raymond B. Walt, became the assistant town clerk. The family resided at 102A Avenue. After attending Normal School in Camrose Georgia taught at the Queens Avenue School. She also earned her ATCM Diploma from the Toronto Conservatory of Music and taught music and was a piano accompanyist for many years performing with Amelie Lane Gubbins, nee Brooks. Georgia was a lifelong member of the United Church of Canada and held positions as President of the Edmonton Presbytery 1942-1943 and Alberta Conference President of the Women's Missionary Society, 1948-1951. Georgia died at age 86 on February 17, 1984. Georgia was predeceased in 1956 by her sister, Winnifred Empay wife of Dr. Howard S. Empay of Vancouver, formerly of Edmonton. She was survived by her husband Clarence E. Miller of Edmonton and a niece, Frances Empay of Vancouver. Clarence Miller worked for Calgary Power in Wetaskiwin as a salesman for Northern Hardware in Edmonton and as an electrician.

Millicent Garneau was born in 1888 to Eleanor Thomas and Laurent Garneau in Strathcona, Alberta. Millicent married Oscar Savard and they had one child – Rose. Oscar Savard died in 1922 and Millicent later married Arthur Bergevin. Millicent Garneau Savard died in April 1950 in Edmonton.

David Moreau arrived in Strathcona in 1899 with other immigrants from Quebec and the eastern United States. The family consisted of David Moreau and his wife, Marie Moreau (neé Pepin), and their four children. David built Regal Department Store in Strathcona. Marie died in November 1907 at the age of 54.
Victoria Pilon (neé Moreau), the daughter of David and Marie, and her husband Emile Pilon, were the first owners of the University Grocery store located at 107 Street and 87 Avenue.

Fred and Agnes Munshaw were longtime residents of Edmonton living at 11022 - 81 Avenue. Mr. Munshaw was a city employee. Both Mr. and Mrs Munshaw were avid lawn bowlers and curlers, belonging to the Garneau Lawn Bowling Club and to the Granite Curling Club. Mrs. Munshaw was active in the Catholic Women's League and attended St. Anthony's Church. Mr. Munshaw was active in the Knox United Church.

Peter Myroniuk, born ca. 1893 in Sniatyn, Austria, lived in Beverly from 1929 to 1930 and worked at D.R. Fraser & Co and as a labourer and a miner. Annie Zayda, born in Melnesey, Borchew, Poland in 1901, lived in Edmonton in 1930 and worked as a waitress. Peter Myroniuk and Annie Zayda were married in Edmonton in 1930. It is not known what happened to Annie and Peter Myroniuk after their marriage.

Shypanski, Mary Mabel Garneau 1912-1995

Edward (Ned) Garneau was born 3 Apr 1875 to Eleanor Thomas and Laurent Garneau in Manitoba. Ned married Mabel Mary Mooney and they had four children – Laurence, Edward, Mary Mabel, and Marguerite. Ned Garneau died 18 Sep 1958 in Alberta.

Harry Peters was born 28 Aug 1878 in Flintshire, Wales and came to Canada in 1911. He was determined to be a minister and enrolled in Alberta College in 1913. While at Alberta College, Harry coached basketball and the team played at the Edmonton Exhibition. Harry Peters married Mary Mulligan, who was also attending Alberta College, on 28 May 1917, shortly after graduating from the college. Harry Peters began ministering in Lavoy, Alberta in the United Church. Harry and Mary had two daughters - Ella and Margaret.
In 1925, the family moved to Hardisty. Mary Mulligan Peters died in 1927.

In 1928, Harry Peters married Pearl Elizabeth Watt, who was a classmate of his first wife, Mary Mulligan. Over a career spanning 45 years, Rev. Harry Peters served in Crow’s Nest Pass, Bon Accord, Redcliffe, Nordegg and Granum. In the later years, he was curator of McDougall Methodist Church in Edmonton.

Rev. Harry Peters died Mar 1964 in Edmonton. Pearl Watts Peters died in 1974. They are buried in the Mount Pleasant Municipal Cemetery.

Pollard, John Aloysius (‘Jack’) 1875-1958
Pollard, Joseph Francis (‘Frank’) 1870-1926

Joseph Francis (Frank) Pollard was born in 1870 to Bridget Maloney and Michael Pollard in the United States. His brother, John Aloysius Pollard was born in 1875, also in the United States. The Pollard brothers came to Edmonton in the 1890’s and by 1898 had established one of Edmonton's most successful brickyards, just west of the High Level Bridge in Walterdale. This business supplied the bricks that were used to build many of the prominent residences in Edmonton.

Adjacent to the site of the brickyard was Firmin Bedard's Tannery. Frank Pollard married Firmin’s daughter, Mary Ann (Annie) Bedard in 1901 in Edmonton. They had seven children – Rosa, Catharine, Harold, Charles, Mary, Clarice, Loretta, Joseph and Marie.

John Pollard married Nora Edith Lord in 1905 in Strathcona. They had six children – James, John (“Red”), William, Evelyn, Edith and Norah.

In 1914 the brickyard closed down temporarily with the onset of the First World War. In 1915 a North Saskatchewan river flood caused the business to cease operations. John Pollard later owned a garage in Strathcona and for a brief time he operated the Princess Theatre. Frank Pollard was an alderman on the last city council of Strathcona prior to amalgamation with Edmonton in 1913.

Joseph Francis (Frank) Pollard died in 1926 in Edmonton. John Aloysius Pollard died in 1958 in Edmonton.
